I love the Sweet Potato Queens

Jill Conner-Brown is my idol. She is hilarious, she's an author and has the funniest books out. I'm really excited because she just came out with a new book titled "The Sweet Potato Queens Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit" If you enjoy funny books you should definately look her up. She has a book signing in Broad Ripple on Jan. the 18th. and me and my best friend, Renee are so excited to finally get to meet her. They have a Sweet Potato Queens Parade in March, in Jackson, Mississippi and I plan to attend this at least once in my life time. I recently wrote Jill an e-mail and I was overjoyed when she wrote me back ~ Let me share it with you:
This was my message to her:
Tell me Jill, how’s a woman who’s read all your books and dying to be a wannabe get to that parade when she’s so busy with life itsownself and raising two teenage daughters and contending to a needy husband, and doesn’t make a fortune and what she does make go to that aforementioned. Well one day me and my girlfriend we will make it and we’ll be so decked out you’ll never miss us. Heehee
Can’t wait to see you in Indianapolis on January the 18th.
Kelly
And this was her reply: LMAO

Hunny, This is just like that thing they tell you before you have kids--"if you wait til you can afford 'em, you'll never have any!"
Mercy, does it ever apply here! Them kids will suck you dry FOREVER--you have to start a double-secret slush fund with SPARE CHANGE, if you have to, and make it SACRED--NOT TO BE TOUCHED except to bring you to the Parade! YOU DESERVE IT--are you kidding me? with TWO teenage GIRLS? It oughta be a PRESCRIPTION!

See you SOON!

Ryanne's Philadelphia Trip

My daughter was chosen by the UCA (United Cheerleading Association) to march in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade so I wanted to share a couple of her pictures from that trip. I am so proud of her.

Saturday night's alright with me, Saturday, Saturday........

I think I had the most fun ever on Saturday. We got up Saturday morning and all were still at Allison's. Julie and KellyJo went to the grocery store and bought some sausage and milk and when allison got up she made us breakfast. By the way, Thank you very much Allison, them bisquits and gravy were the bomb.
Me, Dave, Allison, KellyJo, and Julie all headed to Cinncinati early so we could get a hotel room. We decided to take a cab to the show so everyone could drink. It was an exciting hotel room, let me tell you.... there was a couple fighting literally, an empty stinky pool, a phone in the bathroom, someone from the next room over actually called me while I was using the restroom wanting to party. That's just weird!
So we took a cab to the show, there was a regaee band that came on first, it was funny because they said that this was a CD release party for ekoostik hookah, which it weren't. So we sorta joked about that and realized it was actually on the flyers, I really tried to find a flyer to keep but they were all taken pretty quick. Did you ever get one Allison?
We danced our asses off in front of the stage the whole show, it was sooooooo much fun. We laughed so much. The pictures tell all:
sorry the pics are all out of order, I still haven't figured out how to keep them in order......

I guess at some point I threw my socks on stage, I musta thought Cliff needed them LOL, we won't mention what else ended up on stage. lol

OMG I must'va been out of for this pic, but I think it's cool cuz it appears that John Mullins must of been hanging out with us at the end of the night.

Allison and Steve Sweney, here you go Allison!

Sweet KellyJo

Love it, Me and Eric Lanese

Allison, Eric, and 2 girls I don't know.

I have no idea what was so funny, do you Allison?

Allison in Wonderland

I wonder if they were avoiding my flash, hmmmmmmmm.

Me and My Baby!!!!!!!!!!

"The Girls"

Hotel Pics before the show.

We rode to LBC with Matt and Liz..............

On Friday night me, Dave, Matt, and Liz all rode to Lafayette Brewing company to see Ekoostik Hookah. When we got there we ate some really good appetizers, Cheesy Potatoe Muchers, mmmm those things were good. Then we went upstairs to see the show, Allison, Kelly, Julie, Aaron and you can't forget Ryan were all there. Lisa and Tom a couple old friends of mine showed up. I'm not really happy with this venue. I don't usually have the best time here. For one you can't smoke where the band plays and two, I don't like their beer AT ALL. It's one of those places that brew their own beer and I'm not big on Micro-brews. So I decided to drink Rum/Coke, which did not have nearly enough rum in them. I think I had like 10 and still did not get a buzz.
As far as the music is concerned though. THEY ROCK, I love these guys!!!!!! A couple of the songs that are sticking with me are Hush (so much fun), Washboard Annie, Seagull, and Sheepdog those were my favorites. We ended up going to Allison's for the night because we were going to Annie's in Cinncinati on Saturday night. Aaron's car was completely full so we rode back to their house with Ryan. At there house we drank some more and played some Texas Hold'Em and sat around and talked for awhile before we all crashed. Here a some pics, I didn't take nearly as many in Lafayette as I did Saturday night.

State Champions

We had the state championship high school cheerleading competition this past weekend. We had a blast althought they did not win. The placed 8th out of 13 squads. In my book they are winners! I'm really proud they even made it to state. So I thought I'd share a few pictures.
